Immediately north-west of Kuta are the villages of Legian and Seminyak.

Followed directly from Kerobokan then, further north, the countryside of Canggu and its still authentic rustic charm.  Originally separate areas, Legian and Seminyak are two villages on the beach that have merged together due to their similarities, such as cheap restaurants, pubs, souvenir shops and market stalls. Legian was originally developed as a high-end solution to Kuta (the festive frenzy somewhat decadent area frequented mainly by young Australian surfers), but it is now central Seminyak which supplants Legion as the place to stay in Bali.

Seminyak boasts the highest concentration of extremely diverse restaurants, with a wide choice of cocktail bars, nightclubs, luxurious spas, boutiques, prestigious hotels and private villas. These dream houses were built mostly in the 80s/90s by many contractors and designers who have been attracted and charmed by life in this magical island. In addition to the entertainment aspect of Seminyak, it's numerous beaches and proximity to the airport, this area is the ideal base from where you can visit other parts of the island.

We have chosen the particular area of Seminyak and close surroundings (Umalas, Batubelig, Kerobokan, Canggu) because it is the region best suited to the island combining a small tourist town a multitude of recreation activities and beaches.
